Hope for the First Nations is excited to invite you to our first annual fundraising dinner. Friends have been after us to host a fundraising dinner for some time, but it never felt like us. We’re not exactly a fancy dinner crowd. We’re more of a dollar burger night crowd. We eat, we spend time with friends, we learn from one another, and we have a good time together. But then, we realized we could bring that HFtFN experience to you. And so this year we’re going to give that a try. HFtFN board member Ricky Smith will be joining us in Chicago from the White Earth Reservation to share an evening of traditional Anishinaabe stories and songs. We’ll share a casual meal together, some stories and songs, more information about what we do and hopefully a few laughs — just like we do on White Earth. The fundraising dinner will be Saturday, July 20, at Porto’s Peri Peri, 1419 W. Taylor St., Chicago. There is no charge for the event; however, you will be given an opportunity to make a donation. You can find more details about the fundraising dinner and RSVP if possible by July 18, 2019, on the Facebook event or via email to emily@hftfn.org. And if you can’t join us in person, no worries! We’re planning to livestream the event on HFtFN’s Facebook page, and you can make a donation anytime online.
